Žilavka Vitača Ostojić
Vitača was our queen. As the first wife of Bosnian King Stjepan Ostoja (1378 – 1418), she ruled the Bosnian kingdom at the end of the 14th century. Together with his husband Ostoja, Vitača ruled also in parts of Serbia, Primorje, Humska zemlje (today’s Herzegovina), the western side, the lower regions, Usora, Solija, Polimlja and Podrinja. And for four decades lasted Ostoja’s rule. As King he inherited the father Tvrtko I. Kotromanić, and two of his sons Stjepan and Radivoj Ostojic became Bosnian kings. That is why it is not surprising that this supreme žilavka was named by Vitača Ostojic, one of Ostojics, our queen.
