Merlot Kujava Ostojić
Kujava Ostojic was our queen and duchess, with one pause, from 1399 to 1416, as the second of three King Stjepan Ostoje’s wives. She was from the noble Radinovic family, most probably sister of Prince Paul Radinovic and daughter of Radin Jablanić. It ruled the Bosnian kingdom at the end of the 14th century and at the beginning of XV. century. Together with his husband, King Ostoja, Kujava ruled parts of Serbia, Primorje, Humska zemlja (today’s Herzegovina), the western side, the lower parts, Usore, Solija, Polimlja and Podrinja. And the two full decades lasted Ostojic’s rule. As the king he inherited his father, the Tvrtko I. Kotromanic, and his and Kujava’s son Stjepan became king of Bosnia. That’s why it is not surprising that this top merlot gets the name Kujava Ostojic, just one of Ostojics, our queen.
